Chain pitch is defined as the centre-to-centre distance between adjacent roller pins \u2014 expressed in millimetres for ISO-series chains, and in 1\/8-inch increments for ANSI-series chains. Matching the correct sprocket pitch, tooth count, and bore to the chain pitch is critical: mismatched components accelerate pin-bushing wear on the chain and tooth-flank wear on the sprocket simultaneously, roughly halving the service interval of both components.<\/p>\n
