What is the 08B-G2?
08B = ISO series, 12.7 mm (½″) pitch — the most widely stocked size globally, meaning matching sprockets are readily available. G. = rubber top attachment. 2 = double-strand construction: two parallel rows of link plates and rollers on shared pins, delivering roughly twice the tensile strength of the 08B-G1 single-strand variant.
The rubber top pad is vulcanised directly onto the outer plate of each link, projecting above the pitch line to contact the load or conveyed object. NBR is the default for oil and grease resistance; NR offers superior resilience on dry surfaces. Both compounds come in two hardness grades, allowing engineers to tune friction coefficient and compression set to their specific application.
We manufacture this chain from alloy steel as standard, with stainless steel (SS304 / SS316) available for washdown, food-grade, or corrosive environments. All steel stock carries mill certificates traceable to heat number.
