What Is ISO 1275 Long Pitch Roller Chain?

ISO 1275 defines large-pitch power transmission roller chains with pitches from 38.1 mm (M56) through 101.6 mm (M224) — the range above the short-pitch ISO 606 family. These are the chains of choice when a drive demands large sprocket diameter clearance, very low rotational speeds with high torque, or dimensional compatibility with legacy heavy industrial equipment.

Ever Power supplies ISO 1275 long-pitch roller chains manufactured to ISO 1275:2006 dimensional and minimum tensile strength requirements. Standard pitch sizes M56, M80, M112, M160, and M224 are held in UK stock in carbon steel simplex configuration. Duplex strands, 316L stainless steel, and custom-specification modifications are available to order with a 4–6 week production lead time.

Every production batch is proof-load tested to 50% of published minimum tensile strength before despatch. Dimensional inspection certificates and EN 10204 3.1 material mill certificates are available on request (standard on all stainless steel orders).

1. Pitch (P): Pin-centre to pin-centre across a single link. ISO 1275 nominal values: 38.10 / 50.80 / 63.50 / 76.20 / 101.60 mm.

2. Roller diameter (d): Outer diameter of a free-rotating roller. This distinguishes ISO 1275 from ANSI at shared pitches.
