Kuvaus
The 12A-G2 rubber top chain is a heavy-duty conveyor chain built on a 19.05 mm pitch roller chain base with a vulcanized rubber pad bonded to the top plate of every link. The “12A” designation follows the ANSI/ISO pitch classification system — equivalent to ANSI 60H-1 — while “G2” denotes the higher of the two rubber-top strength grades. Compared with the G1 variant, the G2 uses a thicker 2.5 mm rubber topping (vs. 2.0 mm on G1), higher-grade alloy steel side plates, and achieves a minimum tensile strength of 62.3 kN (14,005 lbf), making it the correct choice for demanding continuous-duty conveyor applications.
The rubber topping simultaneously serves three engineering functions: it creates a non-slip gripping surface that holds bottles, cartons, and irregular-shaped workpieces steady; it absorbs contact shock and attenuates structure-borne vibration noise; and it acts as a sacrificial wear surface that protects both the conveyed product and the chain’s steel components from direct metal contact, extending service life of the full drive system.

Rubber Compound Selection
Nitrile butadiene rubber. The default compound for most conveyor applications. Resists swelling on contact with oils, fuels, and many solvents. Rated for continuous service from −30 °C to +100 °C.
Best for: food & beverage bottling lines, washdown environments, packaging machinery, any area with incidental lubricant contact.
Natural rubber. Superior resilience and rebound elasticity. Preferred where the pad must absorb repeated light impacts at high cycle rates without fatigue cracking or pad delamination.
Best for: high-speed sortation conveyors, agricultural seed handling, light-impact repetitive-contact applications.
12A-G2 vs. 12A-G1 — Grade Comparison
Both chains share the same 19.05 mm pitch and are interchangeable on standard 12A sprockets. The grade difference covers load capacity, rubber thickness, and total cost of ownership. If your conveyor carries light, uniform loads at moderate speeds, G1 is adequate. For higher payloads, abrasive products, or frequent washdown cycles that shorten rubber life, specify G2.

Matching Sprockets & Installation Notes
The 12A-G2 runs on any standard ANSI 60H / ISO 12A sprocket. The sprocket and chain must share the same pitch (19.05 mm), compatible roller diameter (11.91 mm), and inner width (12.57 mm). Rubber-cushioned sprocket teeth are available from our factory to further reduce engagement shock and extend pad life. We supply sprockets from 9T to 120T in C45 carbon steel or stainless steel, with plain bore or bored-to-size with keyway.

- Maintain a wrap angle of ≥ 120° on the drive sprocket to avoid premature pad deformation
- Use a tensioner or take-up unit on return runs longer than 2 metres
- Lubricate the pin/bush interface only — keep oil off the rubber pad surface
- Inspect rubber pads every 500 operating hours; replace when pad height loss exceeds 0.5 mm
- Store unused chain in a cool, dry location away from UV and ozone sources
