Every connecting pin is drilled through its full length, creating a hollow bore that allows cross rods, clevis bolts, pusher blades, bucket ears, and gripper pins to pass completely through the chain. The attachment is rigid, aligned to chain pitch, and requires no welding or secondary machining to the link plates — preserving the full fatigue strength of the chain. Because pitch, roller diameter, and plate dimensions conform to ANSI B29.1 and ISO 606, hollow pin chains run on standard sprockets without tooling changes: a 60HP chain engages the same 19.05 mm-pitch sprocket as a conventional #60 roller chain.

Sprocket Compatibility

Hollow pin chains share the same pitch, roller diameter, and plate thickness as standard ANSI / ISO makaralı zincirler — they engage existing sprockets without modification. Use cotter-pin connecting links on chains operating above 40 m/min or subject to shock loading. Reserve spring-clip (slip-fit) links for low-speed, light-duty applications only.

Sag & Tension

Maintain 2–3 % of centre distance as free sag on horizontal drives. No pre-tension is required on conveyor applications — over-tensioning accelerates bearing and bushing wear.

Apply ISO VG 100–150 mineral chain oil to the inner link area. For SS304 / SS316 food-grade chains, use an NSF H1 approved lubricant only. Re-lubricate every 250–500 operating hours depending on ambient temperature and contamination level.

Pin Bore Inspection

Inspect hollow pin bores for debris and chip build-up every 500 operating hours. Flush with compressed air or solvent rinse before re-lubricating. Check bore for ovality — replace chain if ovality exceeds 0.15 mm.

Wear & Replacement

Measure elongation over a 12-link span. Replace chain when elongation exceeds 1.5 % of nominal pitch length. On conveyors, always replace sprockets at the same time as chain — worn sprocket teeth accelerate new chain wear within hours.
