Chaîne à rouleaux supérieure en caoutchouc 16A-G2The 16A-G2 rubber top chain is an ISO A-series conveyor roller chain with vulcanized rubber caps bonded to the top of every link. Each rubber crown absorbs contact stress and prevents surface marking, making this chain the standard choice wherever a moving conveyor must carry glass panels, plywood sheets, ceramic tiles, lacquered furniture components, or any other substrate that cannot tolerate metal-on-surface contact. The chain body is manufactured from alloy steel with heat treatment and shot peening, giving it the structural durability required for continuous industrial duty.

Two rubber material grades are available: NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) for environments involving oil mist, cutting fluids, or moderate chemical exposure, and NR (natural rubber) for general dry-conveyor applications. Shore hardness is selectable at 65–75 or 75–85 depending on whether cushioning compliance or firm surface contact is the priority.

The suffix G2 denotes full-link coverage: rubber caps are fitted on every link, giving a continuous cushioned surface across the entire chain length. This contrasts with G1 variants where caps are spaced at alternate links. Dimensionally, the 16A-G2 is identical to ANSI #100 / ISO 16A-1 single-strand roller chain and runs on any standard 16A sprocket without modification to drive geometry.

▍ Application Scenarios

01 — Wood & Panel Products

In plywood, MDF, veneer, and laminated board factories, sheets are transported face-up on roller conveyors at high throughput. Metal-on-wood contact at speed causes visible scratch marks that downgrade finished goods. The 16A-G2 rubber top chain eliminates this: the rubber crown contacts the board surface instead of the steel roller, leaving no marks even on sanded or pre-lacquered faces.

02 — Glass Fabrication & Processing

Flat glass, tempered panels, mirror substrates, and tabletop glass are among the most scratch-sensitive materials in industrial handling. The soft rubber contact surface distributes load evenly across the glass face, preventing the localized pressure spikes that cause surface micro-cracks or visible scoring — critical on float glass lines where any surface defect is cause for rejection.

03 — Ceramics & Tiles

Unglazed tiles, fired ceramic dishware, and decorative figurines are conveyed through kilns and post-firing inspection lines on chaînes de convoyeurs. Hard chain contact can chip glaze edges or crack thin-walled pieces. The rubber cap absorbs vibration and provides a compliant bearing surface, reducing breakage rates and protecting glaze finish through the full conveyor run.

04 — Synthetic Panels & Composites

Whiteboards, acrylic sheets, shower panels, and high-pressure laminates all have decorative surfaces that must arrive unscratched. These products often run at lower conveyor speeds with longer dwell times on the chain surface, making the no-mark property of the rubber top particularly important. G2 full-link coverage ensures there is no intermittent steel exposure at any point along the transport path.

05 — Food & Pharmaceutical Conveying

NBR-grade rubber meets food-contact standards for incidental-contact applications. The chain is used in bakery, fresh produce, and packaged goods lines where both product hygiene and surface integrity must be maintained. In pharmaceutical blister-pack and bottling lines, the chain provides gentle, mark-free transport for finished packages while the oil-resistant NBR compound withstands sanitizing wash cycles.

▍ Sprocket Selection Guide

Standard 16A (ANSI #100) sprockets with a 25.4 mm pitch circle are fully compatible. The rubber cap height does not interfere with tooth engagement — the cap sits above the link plate plane and only the chain rollers engage the sprocket tooth roots. No modified drive components are required.
