Product Overview

A Series Short Pitch Precision Roller Chains are the global standard for mechanical power transmission and industrial conveying. The “A Series” designation follows the ISO/DIN numbering system — identical pitch to ANSI chains — making them directly interchangeable with standard sprockets manufactured to ANSI B29.1. “Short pitch” means the pitch-to-roller-diameter ratio is optimised for high-speed operation: reduced polygon effect, lower vibration, and quieter running compared to long-pitch conveyor chains.

At EVER-POWER we manufacture and supply A Series chains in simplex (single-strand), duplex (double-strand), triplex (triple-strand), and multiple-strand configurations up to 8 strands. All chains meet ISO 606, DIN 8187, and ANSI B29.1 dimensional standards. Carbon steel chains are the standard offering; 304 and 316 stainless steel variants are stocked in the most common sizes and available to order in all others.

Fatigue strength — not just tensile strength — is the critical design parameter for cyclic power transmission. Our A Series chains achieve fatigue resistance of approximately 1/9 of minimum tensile strength, achieved through controlled steel grade selection, precision pitch-hole fabrication, heat treatment of all link components, and shot-peening of link plates during manufacture.

Industry Applications

🌾 Machines agricoles

Combine harvesters, seed drills, balers, and grain conveyors. Sizes 08A-1 to 16A-1 dominate. Stainless steel for fertiliser and wet-crop duty.

🏭 Industrial Conveyors

Package handling, food processing lines, automotive assembly. Duplex and triplex preferred for parallel pitch under high tension.

⚡ Power Transmission

Gearbox-to-shaft drives, compressor and pump drives. Chaîne drives tolerate shaft misalignment better than belts in dusty environments.

⛏ Mining & Construction

Heavy-duty 28A-1 to 48A-1 for bucket elevators, scraper conveyors, and screening equipment. Extended-pin variants available.

Guide de sélection des chaînes

1

Determine Required Power & Speed

Enter transmitted power (kW) and sprocket speed (RPM) into the power rating chart for the selected pitch. Apply a service factor: 1.0 for smooth loads, up to 1.7 for shock or reversing loads.

2

Check Design Load vs. Tensile Strength

Peak chain pull × service factor must be below the Q min value in the table above. If it falls between two sizes, always select the larger size for safety margin.

3

Choisissez le nombre de brins

If a simplex chain would require 32A-1 or larger, consider duplex or triplex in a smaller pitch. Smaller pitch reduces polygon effect at high RPM and often allows a more compact, lighter drive package.

4

Select Material & Seal Type

Standard carbon steel for most applications. 304 or 316 stainless for food-grade, wet, or corrosive duty. O-ring or X-ring sealed chains for environments where re-lubrication is difficult or infrequent.
