Chaîne supérieure en caoutchouc 24B-G1The 24B-G1 Rubber Top Roller Chain is a heavy-duty conveyor chain for transporting surface-sensitive materials — varnished timber, float glass, laminated board and composite sheet — without marking, scratching or denting the product surface. A bonded NBR or NR rubber overlay on each link provides a compliant, non-abrasive contact surface. The alloy steel body underneath delivers the full 160 kN (36,363 lbf) tensile strength of a standard 24B-1 chain. No special sprockets needed — it runs on any ISO 606 / DIN 8187 24B-1 sprocket.

Why specify rubber top chain?

Conventional steel roller chain leaves pressure marks, indentations and micro-scratches on finished surfaces. For production lines handling varnished timber, polished glass or laminated panel, even minor surface damage causes rejection and rework cost. The rubber top layer on the 24B-G1 distributes load across a compliant surface rather than a hard steel contact point — without sacrificing any structural capacity of the chain itself.

No surface marking

Flat NBR or NR overlay contacts the workpiece across the full plate width. No gouges, scratches or pressure marks on varnished, lacquered or polished material.

160 kN tensile strength

Thermally treated alloy steel chain body and pins handle continuous heavy-load conveyor duty. The soft contact surface does not reduce structural capacity.

Noise & vibration damping

The rubber overlay acts as a damping layer between chain and conveyed material, reducing operational noise versus bare steel chain under load.

Oil & heat resistance

NBR compound withstands contact with light oils and elevated temperatures common in timber mill, laminate press and plywood production environments.

Standard sprocket fit

Runs on any ISO 606 / DIN 8187 24B-1 sprocket at 38.1 mm pitch. No special sprockets or modified drives needed for most retrofits.

For applications where further noise and impact reduction are required — particularly high-speed glass handling lines — rubber-cushioned sprockets (incorporating an elastomeric layer between hub and tooth ring) can be paired with this chaîne.
