Chaîne supérieure en caoutchouc 12B-G2The 12B-G2 Rubber Top Chain is a medium-duty conveyor roller chain with vulcanized rubber pads bonded to the outer surface of each link. Manufactured to ISO 606 / DIN 8187 dimensional standards from heat-treated alloy steel, it combines the load-bearing reliability of a precision roller chain with the cushioned, non-slip grip that delicate workpieces demand. It is the standard choice for woodworking conveyors, glass processing lines, ceramics kilns, plywood presses, and composite board production — any environment where a bare metal chain would scratch, mark, or vibrate the product being conveyed.

Two rubber compound options — NBR (nitrile, oil-resistant) and NR (natural rubber) — are available in Shore A 65–75 (standard handling) or Shore A 75–85 (higher load / higher speed). Both are vulcanized directly onto the chain link during manufacture, not adhesive-bonded, for permanent pad retention across the chain’s full service life.

Key Features & Benefits

🔇

Noise & Vibration Reduction

Vulcanized rubber pads absorb impact and dampen vibration at every product contact point. Measurably quieter than bare chaînes métalliques — critical for enclosed woodworking halls and glass processing facilities where OSHA noise thresholds apply.

🛡️

Surface & Workpiece Protection

Rubber pads prevent metal-on-product contact, eliminating scratches and pressure marks on finished wood panels, glass sheets, and ceramic tiles. Essential wherever surface quality is a downstream quality KPI.

💪

High Tensile Strength — 57.8 kN

Solid roller construction and heat-treated alloy steel components deliver a minimum breaking load of 57.8 kN (13,136 lbf). Engineered for continuous conveying under sustained load, not just peak-rated performance.

⚙️

Precision Manufacturing

Manufactured to ISO 606 tolerances with shot-peened pins and plates for improved fatigue life. Roller and pin clearances are held to tight dimensional limits to ensure smooth, low-vibration sprocket engagement through the chain’s full service life.

🧪

Dual Rubber Compound Options

NBR compound resists oil, fuel, and hydraulic fluid contact — ideal for lubricated conveyor environments. NR compound provides higher elasticity and better low-temperature performance. Both are available in two hardness grades to match your load and speed profile.

🔩

Direct Sprocket Compatibility

Designed to pair with standard 12B sprockets or matching 12B rubber-tooth sprockets (rubber-inlaid teeth reduce engagement noise by a further 3–5 dB). Sprockets available in pilot bore and finished bore configurations.

Installation Guide

1

Clean Sprockets & Chain

Use a mild solvent to clean all sprocket faces and chain link surfaces. Dry completely before installation — oil or grease contamination compromises rubber pad adhesion and accelerates delamination over time.

2

Verify Sprocket Alignment

Use a straightedge or laser alignment tool to confirm both sprockets are co-planar. Angular and parallel misalignment are the leading causes of premature rubber pad cracking and accelerated side-plate wear.

3

Route & Install the Chain

Start routing from the smallest sprocket, working toward the drive sprocket. Keep the chain taut as you work — do not force links over teeth. If you feel resistance, recheck that the pitch matches the sprocket specification (12B = 19.050 mm).

4

Set Correct Tension

Target 2–3% sag over a free span using a chain tensioner. Over-tensioning accelerates pin and bushing wear; under-tensioning causes skipping under load and increases shock loading on the rubber pads.

5

Lubricate — Correctly

Apply a light chain oil to the pin-bushing interface only. Do not lubricate the rubber pad surfaces — oils and greases degrade rubber compounds and reduce grip on the conveyed product.

⚠️

Maintenance Interval Recommendation

Inspect rubber pads every 500 operating hours for cracking, chunking, or delamination. Replace the chain section when rubber hardness falls below Shore A 55 (oil/heat aging) or pad height loss exceeds 2 mm. Retain worn sections for supplier warranty assessment.

Section 05

Matching Sprockets

We supply matching 12B rubber-top sprockets engineered to mesh precisely with the 12B-G2 chain. The sprocket tooth profile follows ISO 606 Series B geometry; rubber inserts between teeth absorb engagement shock and reduce meshing noise by a further 3–5 dB versus standard metal sprockets.

Paramètre 12B Rubber-Top Sprocket
Chain Pitch Match 19.050 mm (ISO 606 Series B)
Roller Grade G2 — medium load capacity
Tooth Material Carbon steel body with vulcanized rubber tooth inserts
Noise Benefit 3–5 dB reduction at engagement vs. bare metal sprockets
Bore Options Pilot bore / finished bore with keyway & set screw
